Welcome
to MidAmerica Border Collie Rescue
501 (c) 3 organization and tax deductible
Thank you for considering
rescue!! Please look around and if you find a border collie or border
collie mix that fits your needs, here is how to proceed:
- All adoptions
start with the ADOPTION APPLICATION
- Please read
carefully about our ADOPTION
PROCESS
- The adoption
fee is $225. This helps cover the costs of altering, microchips,
shelter fees, medications, and other necessary medical care we encounter
while rehabilitating our fosters.
Whether you seek
a potential agility or flyball champ, a herding or working dog, or just
a loving active companion, we would like to work with you to find the
right match. Our dogs are our priority and we match them with the family
that is going to meet every need...not just some, but all. If your perfect
match isn't in rescue right now, please be patient. It may be the next
one to get saved!
MidAmerica Border Collie Rescue is not a facility open to the public. The rescue dogs are fostered at individuals' homes, therefore appointments must be made in advance and only AFTER the application and approval process has been completed.
We rescue Border Collies that are surrendered to shelters, picked up as strays, or relinquished by those who can no longer care for them. Because of space and funding limitations, most shelters euthanize these dogs if they are not adopted within a short time. However, we will take owner surrenders if space is available. We must have CURRENT medical records/ health certificate, which include: rabies, spay/neuter, heartworm check and dhpp. If these records do not accompany your Border Collie upon surrender, then they will not be able to be taken into our rescue organization.

Rhea was on the
list to be PTS at a Kentucky shelter probably because
she was pregnant. One of our rescuers couldn't stand
the idea of that happening to a future Mommie. So,
she came into our rescue in late January. And she
is a sweetheart!!
Rhea had her puppies,
10 wiggly, squiggly cuties, the second week of February.
Pictures and video will
be available soon. If you can help us with some of
the costs of caring for Rhea and her pups visit
our Angel Program
page and become her special angel!

Charlie was pulled out of a
shelter and was originally thought to be blind. Charlie had his check up
with the vet and Blind Charlie may not be blind for long!
He has severe uveitis, which could have been caused by an injury, we will probably never know for sure. He is coming home with 4 different eye drops and Dr. Blair is confident that he will regain sight in his left eye and may regain some sight in his right eye!
He may always need an eye drop, but that is much better then being blind!
Please
click the donate button above, or visit
Charlie's web page to be an
angel.
