Are you looking for a forever friend? MidAmerica Border Collie Rescue places purebred and Border Collie mixes with carefully chosen families. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to rescue and education. Our adoptees are from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Whether you seek a potential agility or flyball champ, a herding or working dog, or just a loving couch potato, we would like to introduce you to your future companion. Please explore our site and let us know how we can help. One of our volunteers will work with you to find the right match.

All adoptable dogs in our foster program are current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and on heartworm preventative. The adoption fee is a non-refundable $225. Our rescued Border Collies are being cared for in a home environment, where any medical or behavioral problems can be identified and attended to. The foster caregivers for the dogs can answer any questions about the dogs they are caring for, such as how they react to children or other animals, and what their requirements for exercise and training are. Please email the foster volunteer for more information.

Although our group occasionally adopts our dogs outside of KY, IN, IL, MI, WI and MN the preference is to adopt within our area. Part of our mission as a BC rescue is the support role to our adopters. Often that support includes referrals to resources that we know and trust within our geographical boundaries and supporting our adopters is an easier task close to home. As a courtesy to other rescue groups outside of our area that diligently work to find homes for BC's in need, we most often refer applicants outside of our area to these rescue groups, as a perfect match can often be found closer to home. If any of our dogs are available for adoption outside of our geographical area, it will be listed with the dog's information.

Before you can meet any dog, however, you need to read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application.

Rescuing and caring for unwanted border collies and border collie mixes can be expensive.
If you would like to help by making a donation,  we would certainly appreciate your help.
All donations go directly to the care of our Border Collies.
