4/13/08 Tag has settled nicely into our home. He is a very lovable dog. Perfectly house and crate trained. Is the only foster we have ever allowed loose at night but has no problem being crated while we are gone. Pretty laid back. Likes to play when other dogs do and likes to run and play outside but settles beautiful in the house. His recall is great now and while he might see something to investigate, he will stop and come back as soon as told to. Today he saw Robins as soon as he was out back and took off to chase and stopped immediately and returned when called. Also when given the command House, he gently runs ahead to the back door, waiting for the rest of us. When told to stay he is doing great and laying down on command is coming along nicely. He is a loving boy, who is not high energy. He likes to chase Sis playing frisbee and can leap like crazy. But as yet is not attempting to catch the frisbee himself. Leash training is a work in progress but he is improving and doing pretty good. Tags story is that he was found wandering at about 1 year old and it took 2 months for him to be coaxed to come eat. When his owner had to relocate he was brought a long way to the shelter we found him in because he would have a better chance there. He made it out to us and while he is not your typical BC, he has been a joy. He makes us smile and we are glad that he found us. It will take a special person to see his beauty and style, and he has both (Said with a big smile). He has a gentle nature and while still shy to strangers, would give you his heart and faith with your patience. 3/3/08 Hi, my name is Tag. I was raised on a farm with another dog. So I get along great with others, male and female. I was also raised around children and while my foster Mom and Dad have not seen me with kids yet, I bet they will be pleased when they do. My foster home has one outside and one inside cat, both of which I am interested in but have not had any problems with. That means I have not gotten into trouble. I am very well house broken and I am crate trained just recently. Some times I have to be coaxed in but I do not complain once I am there. It now is kind of like my little nest. If I feel insecure about something I might sneak in there. To say I was timid when I came to my foster home two weeks would be the truth. But I am coming out of my shell. I don't think I ever had a bunch of toys and I am learning how to play with them. Have chewed only the nose off the lamb. Sorry, Mom said it was not a big deal but discourages me when it looks like I might try again. I love treats. I LOVE treats! I will walk up and put my head on your lap, then stare with my big brown, soulful eyes, just for a little lovin'. I love to go outside but probably would benefit greatly from an obedience class. While I do ok on the long leash, I am not sure how to behave on a short one. I am working on it but darn, it is hard. Never had any training on it before but I know I would be good at it in a class, maybe scared at first but with your love I can overcome anything. I have been off leash a few times now and my recall is ok. Not the best but with some work would be great, just never been taught that either. Willing and ready to learn!!! I love to go for rides. I am very well behaved and ride in the back seat with my foster brother, while my foster sister sits up front. I am a border collie with some lab and a big sweety ( my foster Mom says so ). I would love a home with someone to reassure me that I won't be abandoned again because once I settle in, I will LOVE you with all my heart. Ready to love, learn and be your best friend! Tag
