Ryn |
|
I adopted Ryn in March 05’. He traveled from his foster home in Wisconsin to come live with me in Indianapolis. He was very insecure at first following me everywhere I went and whining if we went on car rides. After awhile he realized he wasn’t going anywhere and neither was I, he had found his forever home. He is a great dog with a comical personality! He is always keeping us laughing.
Ryn graduated puppy kindergarten with flying colors and then about six months after I got Ryn, my boyfriend and his dog Jake, a boxer/ lab mix moved in. We were very cautious at first as Jake had been an only dog and is about 6 yrs old. But they took to each other like long lost brothers. They are inseparable now and Jakes maturity has definitely rubbed off on Ryn. They love to play tug, wrestle, chase and cuddle with each other. Ryn has turned out to be a big dog weighing in around 70 lbs. The vet says he isn’t overweight though, so there’s nothing to worry about. But he and Jake make great playmates as Jake weighs about 80lbs. They have a big backyard to run in and Jake is always watching Ryn, making sure he doesn’t go too far.
Ryn loves squeakers and to chew on his toys and will chew on his nylabone for hours. He also loves to tease Jake and will carry a toy in his mouth and go right up to Jake and turn away until Jake grabs a hold and then they tug away. He definitely has the Border Collie stare, as he will be lying on the floor and just watches everything by moving his eyes only. He also will come up and lay his head on my lap and just stare up at me.
Ryn loves to run; he will get bursts of energy out of nowhere. He jumps up and begins to run his race track in the house… around the coffee table in the family room and around the stairs into the living room and back around the coffee table and so on. He runs his course about 5 times and then just lies on the floor panting ~ we call it the Ryndy 500.
He also can talk… yes talk. When he wants something or for us to get up in the morning, he begins yawning and talking. He will continue this until you get up or he gets what he wants. If you mock him with the same sounds or another sound, he will respond to you.
Ryn definitely loves people!!! He gives lots and lots of kisses to any visitors we have and hasn’t met a stranger yet. He gets along great with kids too, as I have 3 nieces under 7 yrs old and he just loves for them to play and love on him.
Ryn listens well (when he wants to) and is getting better, but when we leave all we have to do is pick up some keys and Ryn goes right to his crate and opens the door and goes in and lies down without us saying a word. He is a wonderful dog with quite an addictive personality. Our house would be quite boring without him.
