This is an update on one of your alums, "Handsome" Henry.
Henry and I met at Grace & Dave's home in early February 2005. It was a great first meeting, with Henry and I having a great "frisbee" together. Henry moved to his forever home on February 28th, 2005.
These last two-plus years have been remarkable. Henry is know throughout the neighborhood, and is regularly praised for his looks and behavior. Henry had changed from an introverted guy to "The Referee of Evanston Dog Beach". He protects the little dogs by throwing his shoulder at the bigger dogs, but only when absolutely necessary of course. All the humans at the beach remark on his manners, obedience, and of course his beauty. (I try to tell people he's "Handsome Henry".)
Henry began agility training in March 2006 and in July 2007 earned a 1st place with CPE in the "Colors" class. Henry's best friend is a 5 year old boy, my high-school friend's son. We joke that Henry will leave me to go live with this young boy - Henry might love this boy more than me! And this dog was going to be destroyed because he couldn't be safely placed?!?!
Never mind my ravings; just talk to our vet. They are consistently astounded at Henry's transformation. The doctors and vet-techs come out to the lobby to tell the other patients about Henry's transformation.
I hope that this email warms your heart and with editing can be added to your wonderful website. Pictures of Henry are posted at http://community.webshots.com/user/love2002tii
Photos from the agility trial to be posted soon.
My best regards to you all,
Chuck, Henry's companion & handler
